Talal

For those of you who have been asking, this is a picture of my boyfriend Talal. We have been together for about a month. I could talk about him forever but I don't want to bore you. He is wonderful. You might not guess it from this picture but he is super goofy and takes all the crazy I throw at him. We have so much fun together. We know we don't have long together and we are going to make the most of the time we have. He adores me and I love it! We are totally one of those annoying couples that you can't help but glare at they are so happy. (maybe that is just my bitter self that does that to happy couples but anyway...we are sickeningly cute.) After being in Tokyo, a city full of couples, I don't mind rubbing my relationship in everyone's face! bahaha!!! He promised Meredith before she left that he would make sure I never stopped smiling as long as I kept him around and so far he has upheld his promise. Yeah...we really are that annoying!!! :) We could even give Ashley and Geoff a run for their money. haha Anyway, no doubt you will be hearing a lot more about him in the future but if you want to know more, just ask...unless giddy glee will make you gag, if so, you've been warned.
Cheers,
L.

My last days with Meredith

These are the last of my Meredith pictures. The first few pictures our us heading out for a night in Roppongi, and the picture of the tokyo tower was taken by Meredith in the morning when we left the club.
Then the next set of pictures are of Meredith's last night in Tokyo. I took Meredith out and treated her to a night at the Park Hyatt New York Bar. We had a lovely night, listened to a little jazz and I believe, Meredith got a proper Tokyo send off.
I had a wonderful month with Meredith. We did so many things. She was up for anything, even raw fish, and I cannot count the number of laughs and special inside jokes that will forever bond us together. Meredith, you are awesome!!! chocolate good!...tea good!....you know what mean.... I really do miss you! Thank you for coming! Thank you for going crazy with me, and taking my extra crazy with stride. Ugly Betty just wont be the same without you! I know you are busy with sailing and I am not on line that often but we will get those pictures to you, they are in the sharing folder. Your my girl! I love you!!!

Our Last Karoake Night

Meredith and I did our last fabulous karoake concert in Shinjuku. Meredith's new camera took some really nice pictures the streets of Shinjuku. Our karaoke room had a wonderful view over one of Shinjuku's main streets. Meredith....our hearts will go on...and on...and on...... MISS YOU!

Ash, we found the Fishes!!

The Fish Market: well when Ashley and I tried to go to the Fish Market we found... NO FISH. The lonely planet japan had failed to inform us that the fish market is closed on Sundays! Meredith and I checked it out on a Thursday and there were plenty of fishes!! Many many many fishes...and I had a strong desire to go vegetarian. Shortly after Meredith and I arrived and were wondering around try to figure out where we were supposed to go (it is really a serious place of work and as a tourist you feel very much in the way), one of the many little flatbed cars/tucks stopped and offered us a ride. I had literally just finished saying to Meredith that we had to get ourself on one of these crazy flatbeds racing around. This cute guy stopped, asked us where we were going, we said anywhere, he told us to jump on and before Meredith even knew what was happening I jumped up and pulled her along with me and we raced off. He dropped us off (after clearly showing us off to his friends) at the tuna section. Meredith and I, very glad we were wearing our rain boots, wondered around the market for an hour or so taking lots of photos before I had to leave to go to work as this was a morning event. In some of the pictures (one in particular) I am smiling, no that smile is more out of shock of what we were seeing, I received no join from seeing these poor dead fishes. The tunas were sooo huge, Meredith and I couldn't get over the size of the fish. Well now I have done it, it was pretty awesome, totally recommend it, but also happy to not have to drag myself out of bed to see it again

Nature and Skyscrapers

This is a park that was once apart of the imperial grounds. It is close to one of my schools and Meredith and I went one afternoon. My favorite picture is this first one where you see an old Japanese tea house sitting on a large pond and in the background you see the skyscrapers of Shiodome (a very new wealthy area of Tokyo down on the shores of Tokyo bay). It is just such a beautiful example of the old world and modern dominance which is so striking in Japan.
