look at me mom! one hand!
Oh and I can now ride a bike while holding an umbrella over my head. If you don't think this is anything to write home about, try it, you will probably fail.
Recap!
Hello all,
Well Jenna has been here for a week now. She is in Kamakura today visiting the ancient capital of Japan.
Short recap of her time here so far:
Apr. 12- Arrives in evening and we chill in Asakusa and eat Indian.
Aprl 13- Odaiba for Ashes and Snow exhibit, some time of the beach and at the Fugi Television network building. The while I was at my afternoon school Jenna joined Ani in Harajuku and then to Ani's new place where I met up with them, then we meet up with Mhairi and her cousin David and headed to the Pink Cow for their middle eastern buffet and some belly dancing.
Apr. 14- My mother's bday. Jenna and I headed to Shimo Kitizawa to check out the neighbourhood I love so much, then while I met a student Jenna checked out Shibuya. Then we headed home to nap before heading out to party it up with Mhairi and her cousin. Unfortunately Jenna had to turn back after we headed out as she was just too exhausted (jet leg is a killer) but the three of us continued on and had a fabulous night. I had the best night out clubbing I have ever had, I was dancing up a storm and made a friend. It was amazing.
Apr. 15- After arriving home at 5:30 in the morning, I went to teach a lesson at 10am. Then I met Jenna in Ueno and we had a little picnic in the park which was fabulous. We explored the park and paddled on the duck boats. Then we explored a bit through the alleyways of Ueno. I was exhausted so I headed home while Jenna returned to Harajuku to look around some more. That evening we went for Indian in a\Asakusa with Mhairi and David.
Apr. 16- After work I meet up with Jenna in Ikebukro for a dinner of Okonomaki and some Karaoke! Jenna wanted to get her karaoke feet wet before our big Tuesday night celebration.
Apr. 17 - Afterwork I met up with Jenna, Ani and David in Shinjuku and after a wonderful dinner at Arabian Rock, we headed to our Karaoke palace. We randomly got one of the big rooms on the 7th floor that looks out over shinjuku central, the view was so amazing. We sang our little hearts out and the two hours went by far too fast. Mhairi joined us after she finished work.
Apr. 18 - Cold and wet day. After work Jenna and I made a lovely Udon dinner, did our laundry and made ourselves comfy on the sofa under blankets with a bottle of wine and as much Scrubs as we could watch. When Mhairi arrived home we put on Beerfest which was disappointing.
Apr. 19 - TODAY! Well I am home of my lunch break. Jenna is in Kamakura, Mhairi and Ani at work. Tonight I think we will take it easy. Make dinner, maybe watch another movie as tomorrow we are going to pull and all nighter clubbing in Shibuya with Kochi who I met last Sat at a club in Roppongi.
I think Jenna will head to Kyoto on Monday. She is determined to see Koya-san which is beautiful but that extends her trip out of Tokyo and I will miss her while she is away.
My cousin Meredith booked her flight to Japan the other day! So I will be seeing her mid-may!!! So many exciting things happening!
Cheers,
Linden

So many things happening
Hello,
It has been a long time since I last posted, I am sorry.
So much has happened.
Mhairi cousin came to visit. His name is David and he is very nice. He will be here until Wednesday.
Ani found a new apartment and has moved in. She is living in Mejiro now and loves her new little studio.
I have also found an apartment for when when Mhairi leaves at the end of the month and it is also in Mejiro. I am very excited that Ani and I will be so close to each other. We will be able to walk to each other's places instead of the 30min train ride we have now. My place is a studio as well. I have a little kitchen area and space for a table, a tiny shower/toilet room. The bedroom is a good size and the closets are huge so I am very happy. Mer, you will have a great place to stay when you come! And any other visitors of course!
And my favorite piece of news is that Jenna is here!!!! She arrived on Thursday evening. I love having her here. We have been having an amazing time. She is so much fun, I am treating each day as a little gem cuz three weeks are going to pass so fast and then she will be gone and Mhairi will be gone and I will be sad. Okay no more sad talk.
I will put up more details of my time with Jenna shortly.
Cheers.

JK Day 2
Hi,
Well JK has now left and is Taiwan on bike business. We had a great day last Saturday. We went to the Meji Shrine in Harajuku in the morning after a picnic breakfast in Ueno park. The Meji Shrine is surrounded by 40 hectares of forest. It is really magical as one doesn't often find themselves in such a forest in the middle of one the the largest metropolises in the world. We also took a walk through the Meji gardens which are located on the grounds of the Shrine. All beautiful and peaceful, very Zen.
Then we headed down Omotosando, took a tour of the Ralf Lauren store which really spoils the shopper for other stores. We continued down this rue de fashion and stopped at my favorite Thai restaurant for lunch. Then on our way back to the train station we ducked down the Harajuku alleyways, buying and enjoying a crepe, and a stop in at a soccer store to buy soccer shirts for the game. Then it was back to my apartment for a rest. JK and Dimitri passed out so fast, I didn't get a chance to sleep.
Then it was off to the game. After some delays with finding the right stadium in Yokohama, and collecting Ani the four of us made it to the Kirin Cup - Japan vs. Peru. It was very exciting. Japan won 2-0. I wore my new Japan soccer shirt.
As 60,000 people exited the stadium we had to wait out the crowds and ended up catching one of the last trains back to Tokyo. We were all so tired that we back out of a night out clubbing and headed to my apartment were we all passed out.
JK left on Sunday.
I had a wonderful time with him here. I really feel honoured that he took the time to come and stop in to visit me on his way to Taiwan.
I didn't take any pictures, JK has them, and when he sends them to me I will post them.
Today I am checking out a possible guest house that is really close to Shibuya and Shimo Kitazawa.
I hope the place is good, it is great on paper.
cheers

JK Day 1
Hello!
Well JK is here and we are having a fabulous time!
Oh what a day we have had today. But first last night- So when JK arrived (7:30pm) we wandered around Asakusa with his friend and business partner Dimitri. We ended up at a sushi restaurant and ate our fill
TODAY: Well this morning I sent JK and Dimitri off to Odibia to the Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation Technologies as I went off to work. I joined them there after my class and we had a great time. We saw Asimo. Oh yeah, THE Asimo! He talks, dances, climbs stairs, waves, and of course he has perfected the bow! It was amazing. I bought a little Asimo charm. Really crazy cool. Then we saw something even cooler... a HADRIAN CAR! And it was driving! it was Mazda's duel Hadrian fuel car. It purrs like a kitten. Such a highlight!
Then we headed to Shinjuku to a great Italian restaurant that Ani and I love under the Zara's. We had planned to go to Shinjuku Gardens but it was closed by the time we finished our very late lunch and headed over. I then took the guys to Tokyo Dome City, one of my favorite places in Tokyo. They rode the roller coaster and felt it was both amazing and scary. JK said it was the only roller coaster that had ever made him fill ill -the height and going through buildings thing...rather intense.
We were so exhausted from all the days events that decided to skip the planned trip to Roppongi and head back to my apartment.
I have now taken a bath and feel fabulous. A truly wonderful and eventful day in Tokyo.
Tomorrow-Meji Shrine, Harajuku, Omotosando, the Thai restaurant I love, then to Yokohama for the Peru vs. Japan Soccor game-the Kirin Cup, and then to Shibuya to sample the clubbing would of the young and fabulous Tokyoites. All very exciting. I love having my cousin here.
To my family on the east coast who has once again been hit with illness and hospital visits- I am thinking of you. Uncle Chris, you are in mine and JK's thoughts constantly. Mer, your my girl. All my love.
Cheers
